The 7th edition of the World Conference on Marine Biodiversity (WCMB 2026) will take place in Bruges from 17 - 20 November 2026. Endorsed as a UN Ocean Decade Event, the conference will be held under the theme "The marine biodiversity insights we need, for the ocean we want" and will provide an opportunity to reflect on progress and remaining challenges halfway through the UN Ocean Decade. Organized as a high-level international meeting, WCMB 2026 will bring together policymakers, scientists, conservationists, industry representatives, and other stakeholders to exchange knowledge on marine biodiversity conservation and sustainable use. The conference will include multiple sessions covering scientific research, policy development, digital tools, taxonomy, monitoring systems, and capacity-building for future generations.
