| The 15th Five-Year Plan period serves as a critical stage for accelerating the development of a leading transportation nation and establishing a modernized infrastructure system. The 2026 sessions of the National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference have explicitly outlined the construction of a modern integrated transportation system based on the framework of "One Network and Four Modernizations," charting a strategic blueprint for the industry's advancement. Addressing the dual challenges of constructing major projects and upgrading/reinforcing the vast stock of existing infrastructure for higher efficiency and quality, it has become an inevitable requirement for serving national strategies and supporting high-quality development to drive the integrated convergence, safety enhancement, digital-intelligent upgrading, and green transformation of transport infrastructure.
The Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) consistently upholds its mission of "serving national major decision-making and advancing engineering and technological innovation." It actively spearheads academic progress, concentrating on the frontiers of global engineering technology and addressing national demand for major engineering projects. The Academy systematically organizes strategic, forward-looking, and interdisciplinary academic exchange activities. In this context, the "Chinese Academy of Engineering Engineering Technology Academic Symposium and the 14th International Road-Bridge-Tunnel Technology Conference (RBTC 2026)" will be held in Changsha from October 22 to 24, 2026. This conference will fully implement the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and its successive plenary sessions. It will closely align with national strategic needs, with the overarching goal of enhancing the safety and resilience of major transportation infrastructure throughout their lifecycle.
