| The launch of the Border Management Authority in South Africa was a stepping stone for interagency cooperation within the region to combat the challenges facing border security. The passing of the bill comes at a time when the threats of illegal migration and transportation of banned substances are at the forefront of the regions national security agenda. An integrated border management concept is therefore needed across the Southern African region to help aid the armed forces, border guards, customs, and other officials in the journey towards improved resilience against illicit cross border activity.
As such, join us at the Africa Border Security & Management Conference this November in Johannesburg, which will bring together the key policy-makers across the region to deliberate the issues relating to the management of Southern Africa's borders.
