Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association (TEEMA) was founded on 24 October 1948; it was originally known as Electrical Material Manufacturers' Association and was composed of over 50 small-sized factories producing heavy electric machinery, motors, switches, plugs and lighting products. Since its original name doesn't cover today's high-tech industry, it was renamed Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association in 1994.

The range of products manufactured by TEEMA members includes 16 categories of computers and peripherical equipments, communication products, semiconductors, photoelectric products, heavy electric machinery, AC systems, household electric appliances, measurement instruments and equipments, finished electronic products, power supply equipments, lighting products, wiring equipments, electric parts and components, batteries, information application software and network industry.
